Bionaire Steam Mop Review

The Bionaire Steam Mop is designed to be safe to use on all surfaces. Cleaning with steam allows you to clean without harsh, toxic chemicals. This mop works on hard surfaces like you would expect but also has a carpet glider for steam cleaning your carpet. It stores approximately 8 fluid ounces of water and starts creating steam within 30 seconds.

The Bionaire Steam Mop comes with the carpet glider, two washable triple action micro fiber pads, a funnel and a filter.

Bionaire Steam Mop Reviews

The reviews for the Bionaire Steam Mop are absolutely terrible. We found a few dozen reviews online for this steam mop and the average user rating was approximately 1.75 stars. We checked Amazon.com, Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy’s and several other retailers and all of their websites had reviews that were very negative with a couple of rare exceptions.

After reading through every review we could find online we were able to find three or four people that actually liked the Bionaire Steam Mop. One person said that it worked very well and that two of their friends like how it performed and were going to go out and buy one as well. Unfortunately, finding positive reviews was like finding a very small needle in a haystack the size of the Empire State building.

The biggest problem that most people had with the Bionaire Steam Mop was that it simply did not work or that it worked once or twice and then stopped working. A number of people said that they bought one, had problems with it, returned it, received a replacement mop and had exactly the same problems with replacement that they did with the original mop. Other people had a little bit more luck and their mops made it for almost a year before they finally stopped working.

Some people said that this “steam mop” produced no steam at all. Another person pointed out that the temperature only gets up to about 110° which is not really sufficient for sanitizing anything.

We could go on and on telling you about all the negative comments that people had but there’s really no point in doing that. All you need to know is that the Bionaire Steam Mop is absolutely not the mop for you when there are so many other options available, options that are affordable and received extremely positive reviews. Check out some of the other reviews on our site and you’ll find a great mop at a great price but please, please do not buy this one.

MY WIFE PURCHASED ONE AND IT QUIT AFTER VERY FEW USES, BOUGHT ANOTHER AND SAME THING HAPPENED AFTER A FEW USES. TRIED THE SUGESTED REPAIRS WITH VINAGAR, DIDN’T WORK

If I had to give a grade to the Bionaire steam mop from 1 (being the lowest) to 10 (highest), I would give it a 2! This mop is VERY expensive (about 90 dlls), no where does it say you can NOT use normal water, I do like how it cleans HOWEVER, we have gone through 3, the 3rd being the last. Bionaire claims they have warranty on their product but whenever you contact them it becomes so difficult to return you might as well save your time, they even ask for the box! sure you’re keeping the box forever! the mop simple stops working, the cleaning cloth things broke in the washer. DO NOT purchase it!

I bought one of these Bionaire Steam mops it works great, has an extended warranty. One must of course follow the instructions which clearly state that it is better to use distilled water but that it has a special filter for use if you do not have distilled water available.

It managed to clean sticky toffee of a carpet, something I did not really expect to work. Its great purchase one – only problem is getting extra microfibre mop pads however these are quite easily made with little ingenuity and work as well. There are clear instructions on washing the pads and leaving them to airdry, as with any microfibre cloth

    Great full marks

  5. ooohgosh says:

PROs/Cons it works great the for the 1st 50xs : / after that it just didn’t spray enough steam what could i say i only paid 20.00 doller s for it no wonder they had it marked down ..i could of used the 20buscks for a new mop and bucket

  6. Disappointed says:

I bought one of these from Zellers in Canada. I worked once. Now there isn’t any steam. Since I didn’t keep the box (who does?) I can’t return it, I looked up reviews and found out it was a piece of crap, and it’s actually made by Sunbeam. If I’d known that, I would have saved my money. Everything I’ve ever bought from Sunbeam has been crap – from toasters and blenders to water coolers.

I wish I’d seen the reviews before I purchased it.

  7. N. H. Martin says:

Same story as most of the others! Handle broke about the 2nd time I used it. Managed to duct tape it together. But with minimal use, now it won’t run at all (purchased 12/26/09 from Macy’s). Needless to say, even though the price I paid was good on sale, I wish I had spent more money and bought a better machine. Cannot even find a website for Bioaire! BUMMER!

  8. Beth says:

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I bought this product and tried to use it, but the mop head will not stay on. One swipe and it falls off, leaving me exposed to live steam.
